Her auds pricked, alert for any unusual sound in the area around her. Hearing nothing, she let them relax, but kept her senses open, her nostrils flaring every once in a while to take in the scent of the surrounding air, once again alert for anything unusual, to her.
Her thoughts wandered. She missed her daughter, Reens, who had stayed with the inexperienced colt for a leader of her old herd. Unfortunetly Rainbow Flicker couldn't take her with her when she escaped, and regretted every moment of it. But her daughter [you]had[/you] wished her luck before fleeing, which was loving of her. But now she might hate her for leaving her with that tyrant. Her head filled with regret as she imagined then tried not to imagine what the cruel stallion would do with her. Hopefully he would trade her to a better herd, as stallions cannot breed their own young. Reens would be better off in a new herd. But now, Flick couldn't do anything. She herself was young, forcefully bred young by a new young stallion. She hated him now, he had scarred her hide in several places, and not to mention her mind. Now she was withdrawn, shy, and had quick changes of temper. She used to be young and reckless, now she shyed away from everything. Especially stallions.
This land smelled of many other horses, some newer, some scents gone stale. What is this place? She hoped desparetly it wasn't the breeding grounds.
Rainbow Flick suddenly stumbled over a tree root. Curse it. she thought to herself, for being so careless. At this rate, a stallion could probably sneak up behind her and yet again breed her unknowingly. She shuddered at the thought, and resolved to pay more attention.

The stallion didn't understand why he was here, just like he didn't know why he had gone to the Plateau. Both the Plateau and Delepio Meadows connected though, so he had to travel through here to get to his land... well, hopefully his land. Donovan had unofficially claimed it but he felt that, being his son, he would hand it over now that Incognito was back; for better or for worse. He had ideas for how Donovan could lead beside him and then beside his future heir - indeed, the bastard planned on getting a heir. It would have to be soon, he wouldn't last but another 4 or 5 years for the disease got him. Luckily it wasn't passed down through his genes, he had just contracted it from his own land; the same disease that killed the herd he had been leading there. He wasn't worried about passing it on here, it was something about his old land that had caused him to fall ill. His left blind eye just happened and any horse could get that disease; it was apart of growing old.
Incognito had not claimed a mare since he had lived here prior to departing. He had bathed himself, submitted to some grooming from Haviana - a mare he was falling more and more for, if not already. He looked much better than before with his gleaming pelt and soft, crimped strands of mane and tail gliding behind him. The grey within his muzzle or through out his pelt could not be hidden, but at 10 years of age he was not old; it was the sickness that made him old. He suffered from muscle spasms at random times, slowly degrading his spine and his mind until he would just lay down to sleep one night, and not wake up.
What the...
Still alert, Incognito heard the stumbling of a mare. Dial twisted upon arched nape, multi-hued acoustics searching for the source. He spotted a very radiant ivory mare with black spots; her stunning appearance perhaps biting more at him than this mild winter. He trotted casually over to her, surprised that his body didn't break out in spasms as it usually did. Slowing, cranium inclined slightly in greeting and stopped just a few feet from her - giving her space, but showing dominance. It was all more depressed since he was older, a bit wiser and not so concerned with showing power. None the less, his pride and regalness showed.
Are you alright? Tone was deep but quite compared to how he used to talk. This mare didn't know him then though, and may deem him too old for her. He shrugged it off, neck extending so that his head lowered carefully to the leg she had injured. It was a slow movement so that she could not 'accidentally' kick him because she was 'startled'. Cranium elevated once more, smiling gently at her. He briefly noted her scars but did not make it obvious; he looked at her like he would any other mare, scars or no scars. She could have a huge hole in her side and he'd look at her just the same.
My name is Incognito... Ancient Lord of Snow Mountains, I guess you could say. You?
He still led the herd, technically, and Donovan was not exactly old enough to lead. He would not fully claim the land as his own because it technically belonged to Donovan and Incognito's future heir. He was more like King and they the Lords.

The large kind black and white brute, walked into Delepio Meadows. He was here for a mre, like all the other stallion although there were few. Flicking his tail he walked into the land calmly, he saw one mare walking, she seemed to be deep in thought and still he looked around. No matter how hard he tried something about the mare kept his eyes coming back. The beautiful white, black speckled mare was gorgeous. He did not care about only beauty, his eyes had caught a mare Julia, ratted hair, half dead and clumsy she was and when she followed him home, well she never appeared.. But Arrow did not care for beauty.
Suddenly his ally, Incognito came forth and Arrow trotted forward to them. He put on a kind gentle smiled, nodding to Incognito. "Hello femme." He said softly, trying not to scare or disturb her, some mares were like that. H enoticed how this ally beside him seemed old, maybe 14 or 13? Gray hairs grew through the black, his eyes were white and haunting and Arrow norted, worried for him. He wanted to talk to him too.
He focused back on the mare, dipping his head and smiling to her. "I am Silver Arrow, from Shadow Forests." He said the the same voice previous.

Apparently her resolution didn't matter. She drifted off again while walking, her thoughts wandering all over the place. Some of it was of her past leader, and stallions in general. Unfortunetly, those thoughts were a realistic foreboding to the two stallions that had both spotted her, and quite ironic for her. But she didn't notice until the wind changed and one of them spoke.
Are you alright? My name is Incognito... Ancient Lord of Snow Mountains, I guess you could say. You?
She suddenly started, her head shot up, and she stumbled on another obstacle over the ground. "Dang Blast the freaking curse it!" she muttered to herself, untangling herself from the tangle and at the same time looking over her shoulder at an old-looking stallion, then at another one further off. "Dang it!" she mentally scolded herself and murmered a curse at the two stallions. They had shown up when she wasn't paying attention, and then maybe she would be stuck with another mean leader and an unwanted foal.
Then the other one spoke. He seemed to know the older one, called Incognito.
Hello femme. I am Silver Arrow, from Shadow Forests.
Flick sighed. Great. Now they wanted to meet her, and possibly want her to join their herd. And to top it off, she mused, another brute would come and try to claim her, too, she thought, exasperated. Hopefully that wouldn't happen.
"Hmm?" she decided to ask. She tried to keep the quiver out of her voice, and act like she wasn't scared, but of course, who wouldn't be, especially when you don't like stallions? But she'd have to be nice, in order not to spark anything. "You can call me Flick. So what do you want?" she asked dryly. Stubborness was her nature, since she was young.

By the mares quivering, Incognito percieved her to either consider he and Silver Arrow - his ally - to be a threat, or she was cold or nervous about somethng. He nodded to his ally and then looked at the mare as she spoke. Aerial sensors were erect, giving her his full attention. Caudal appendage flicked behind him, flesh twitching as more muscle spasms flourished through out his body. The bastard ignored it, and also ignored the dry bluntness of 'Flick's' tone. He just offered her a passive expression, hardly amused or impressed, but he wasn't upset by her either.
These are the claiming lands, so you may only assume why we are here.
He spoke just as dryling as the mare, a bit louder but still relatively quiet compared to his booming voice of his younger days.

Arrow noticed she shyness of the mare. It was spring, and it was warming up now. Flicking his tail he contemplated bringing the speckled mare home, and his descision was yes. She asked a question and he listened as Incognito answered, his voice dry and crisp. He thought wheither he should say something and again, his decision was yes.
"I wanted to know if you were ok, and willing to find peace in my lands." He added a little exclamation to I so the mare was sure it was his opinion and that she wasn't half listening. He held his body not intimitatingly but normal.

"Ah. So that's why you two are here." responding to the Incognito. She said it quietly, and calmly, though inside she was shaking. What bad luck, she thought. She sighed, and sighed again. At least it wasn't the breeding grounds where anyone could just suddenly...she shook herself of the thought. Turning her concentration back to the two stallions, she studied them, nervous. They deserved to be nice to, as they had been polite with her. But she didn't like stallions. But she had been lonely for a while and wanted others to talk to...But...she pondered.
I wanted to know if you were ok, and willing to find peace in my lands. She tossed her head up to look Arrow straight in the eye. "G-give me several reasons why you want me to go particularily with you." she articulated pretty clearly, though her obvious fear made her stutter on the 'give'. "And, yes I'm...ok." she half-lied. It wasn't a complete truth, though it wasn't a complete lie either.

Bastard nodded in agreement with Silver Arrow, not finding it nessecary to say anything more on the subject. Skull twisted to look at the quivering female, scrutinizing her placidly, trying to understand her anxiety. He could only assume recent stress, or something from her past; no doubt she feared studs. Abusive father? Bad leader? Phobia? Incognito didn't know he just knew somewhat of it's source and he decided to try and be understanding.
At her request, Incognito took a step forward to take 'center' stage, so to speak, knowing it was his turn to speak anyways. The brute lifted his dial somewhat, looking straight at the mare. His gaze was refreshing though, expression soft as labrums parted and he spoke passively to her.
I am an older stallion, I've experienced a lot. I'm starting my herd over, have only one mare and our daughter. Pause, showing obvious displeasure towards that. Gaze flickered to Silver Arrow since he's the one who had his one mare, although he knew Boodica would do as he pleased. Looking back at the fatale, Flick, he spoke once more. I'm trying to get a herd going as well for my future heir, so he'll have something to... start with.
He spoke not of his illness, because it was obvious and she could probably see it. Though he did not think she was okay he felt it better not to question her. [/blockquote]

The brute sighed inwardly, the femme had asked him his reasons, not Incognito but Incognito spoke anyway, waiting for his turn, he didn't step forward like Incognito, he didn't ignore the fae's emotions and gave her space, and would give her time to trust him. Flicking his tail his expression soft and passionate, caring and kind and his eyes seemed to be the same.
"Dear Flick, I would love for you to come with me so you can live, and have protection and company. Food and Water all the time and a sense of home and security. I do hope you do well, in my herd or not, but in mine I will do everything to make sure you are happy and cared for." He said.
The mare was nervous, like most others would be. so giving her space seemed most sensible, then going closer to talk but that was his ally's choice and both stallions handled it differently.
