The scent of other equines floated upon the breeze, their odor fresh and new...carrying the slight hint of their dams stench as well. Pushing them into a line of large evergreens so that their scents would be hidden until Boodica could get Incognito around. Once they were layed down and settled, Nytec and Roman obeyed their mother and relaxed quietly so that they remained hidden. Lifting her skull into the air slowly, Boodica's barrel shook slightly as she called to her master. Calling to only him, the other mares would get their turn to meet them...but right now it was time for their father's meeting.
Shaking her skull slowly before dipping her skull slowly to graze near where her son's were hidden. Flicking her thick ebon plume pushing the flies away from her hocks, there was still a small amout of blood caking her pelt. Dark chocolate orbs darted around the area, carefully watching for the mountain lions that roamed this mountain. Snorting softly, pushing the scents through her paper thins....carefully taking into account each odor that filled her. Nickering softly to the twins that lay a few meters away, their soft calls back to their mother put Boodica at ease so that she could continue to graze.

With the arrival of Summer came the melting of the snow and ice on Snow Mountain. This had caused a lot of flooding at first and certain amount of heat as the excess water exaporated and made the environment humid. For this reason I had refrained from coming to my herd land until the mountain was the comfortable home I was used to. Considering my insecurites still of how safe the mountain was, I had yet to bring my mares and our offspring back from Silver Arrow's land; not until I knew that they would be okay here. Naturally, some areas would still remain restricted, even from my own faes, but to my pleasure much of the mountain was pretty well negotiable. The water had created a few ditches and flooded the near-by river descending the top of the mountain, but all together I was pleased.
I passed slowly through the land, taking my time to ensure that all were safe. I saw a few carcass's of animals killed in the frozen tundra or caught up in the water that now doubt suddenly came down the mountain. I thought I recognized a few cadaver's of the canine species, lupines to be more exact, but I was not so sure to feel completely safe that they were entirely gone. I knew they were here, but probably had been forced to leave just like myself; they would eventually return, though.
Aerial sensors pricked forward and my skull lifted with excitement and surprise, my lustful gaze searching my surroundings as I heard the ring of Boodica. By now, I realized, she should have given birth and I wondered curiously if she had brought our son or daughter here. Ebon stilts moved rapidly beneath me as I smelled her, trotting towards a cluster of trees where I was immediately blasted with the stench of blood and after-birth. This told me that she had indeed birth, and I did not hide my eagerness in searching for the foals. I could smell them but could not see them as I slowed to a walk, nearing Boodica. I came behind her and nipped her rump before circling around, allowing my muzzle to run across her ribs before planting a final touch to her nose. Standing beside her, yet to the side so that I was sort of in front of her, I smiled approvingly at her before speaking.
Well, how are you doing Boodica? You seemed to have faired well.
This was my acknowledgement that I knew she had give birth, and though I was concerned for her I could not hinder my excitement - perhaps I would be jumping up and down if I could. Instead, I stood silently before her, unnoticeably trembling as my gaze darted around the area, catching shadows and perhaps misplaced blurrs of colour but I waited for Boodica to bring the foal forward.

Grazing quietly, her foals resting silently a few meters from where the blood hued vix stood. Their soft calls to her had subsided leaving her to the quiet...though the sound of approaching hoof beats and with the wind in her face there was no scent to signal who was coming. Pinning her duos to her skull and turning to face the on coming threat until the wind subsided and Incognito's strong musky scent rushed into Boodica's nostrals. Calm filled her as she stood waiting for him to arrive.
As the stallion moved infront of her, his loving touches caused her peace. Her body was weak but Boodica would never show it, the emerald grasses would quickly take care of her weakness. Filling her with energy once again, along with the milk that her sons would need to grow healthy. Nodding slightly before answering him, Boodica glanced over to where her foals were hidden. A soft nicker was given before she turned back to the stud.
"Indeed, we all have faired well. And how are you?"
The soft sound of a rather small creature moving the under brush to the left of the mohogany vix caused Boodica to turn her skull quickly...nickering softly while listening for a reply. It came, the soft sound of a newborn foal whom stepped from the underbrush about the time he called to his dam. Nytec, the strongest of the two, sable in color...idintical to his father in stature. Proud and regal, from the way he moved to his beautiful midnight coloring. Dark emerald orbs looked at the new equine that stood near his mother. Taking and showing no fear to the stud, he snorted before slinking along side his mother. Chest pushed out proudly and his skull held high...his mother's pride it would seem.
Though before Boodica could call again another foal stepped from the brush. His coat the same shade as his dam, though it shimmered like bright coppery blood. Built like his father though he would mature to only his mother's hidth...Roman would no be weak by any means. Ebon feathered pillars carried him to the other side of his dam where he stood watching his sire through dark chocolate orbs. Curiosity bright within the foals as they awaited their mother or father to speak.
Nytec stepped bravely towards his sire, muzzle outstretched as his milk teeth clicked together showing his respect to his father. Listeners perked forwards awaiting his father's approval, his dam had told them much of their sire...and here he was standing before them. Emerald colored visionaries watched as Nytec waited. Boodica nuzzled them both lovingly, keeping herself slightly over Roman who was by a slight measurement smaller than his sibling...somehow the vix knew she would have no favorites but she would protect Roman where Nytec would need no protection.
"Your sons...Nytec...and Roman."

Silver Arrow trotted into the lands. He had come to check up on the truce he'd built with Incognito. As he entered he senses and smelt Incognito had not been around for some time. Others said he'd been killed. He worried for the mares. Trotting forward one oddly familiar scent caught his nostrils. Boodica. He whinnied a greeting to her and set off to find her.
He followed the scent until he spotted her with two colts. Shaking his head he felt bad she had to bare them, when now Incognito was gone. He came forward slowly and cautiously as a gentle smile broke his maw and his eyes were soft. He stood away from her, as not to startle her, or make her fear for her sons safety.
"Dear Boodica. where is Incognito? I fear the safety of the her'd mares."

The weeks had passed slowly, after seeing Incognito that one time after their sons had been born. He had vanished...Boodica was sure that something had befallen him. So standing near the place where she had hid them their first day in their home, pricks forward listening as her yound sons bucked and play fought. Her dark chocolate orbs were slightly hooded, and her mind a million miles away...wondering to herself where her beloved Incognito had disappeared to.
The sound of an approaching equine caused Boodica to spin her bodice around quickly, catching the scent before the sight of Silver Arrow. Snorting softly as he came into sight, looking back at her sons before calling them to her side. Nytec, proud and handsome...looking like Incognito's twin, stepped slightly infront of his mother as if he was going to protect her from this stallion. Thought Roman stood at his dam's flank, his dark crimson face peering curiously at the titan who was boldly approaching his mother.
"Silver Arrow...I wish I knew, it seems he has fled. I also fear for them, but with these two I must insure their lives before anothers..."
Boodica was slightly ashamed that she would put her foals before another life...but they were her last remaining hold to Incognito and her love for him. Extending her muzzle to the stud in a peaceful greeting, much as she would have done with her lover standing beside her.

The stallion stopped short. Not looking too long at the strong handsome boys infront of him. They would grow up to be proud corageous leaders. He could tell, well from the older one so far. Shaking his mane he listened carefully to the femme, a sorrowful expression on his face.
Silver Arrow...I wish I knew, it seems he has fled. I also fear for them, but with these two I must insure their lives before anothers...
Her muzzle extended it an dhe greeted it with a soft nuzzle, one to reassure the mare that he would not leave her without knowing her and her sons safety. Flicking his tail he thought about taking her with him. If she agreed of course. Routterrie his lead had died, and he planned on making Irish Spearming the lead. But any mare could be favoured or second in command.
Smiling and winking gently at the old colts his eyes met the brown, tired one's of the beautoful fae infront of him. Surely she carried such a burden, and the least he could do was help relieve it.
"Boodica. You are welcome to my land, and to stay. For a period, or I would much enjoy you stay forever. I want the best for you, and to ensure your sons get off to a good start in life. And if I may sign up for the job. A serogant father."
He knew this was a big leap, one he hoped the mare would take. for the boys, and for her. For some reason the colts, and Boodica felt like his weight to help, to carry in tough times, like a stalion should.

The light hued colt had been walking over the lands, for the past weeks he believed, exploring his options in his mind. Since his sire had vanished, his scent had began to vanish from the land, and all news of him slowly disappeared. Soon enough, another brute would come and claim this land, Donovan knew. He could leave before that happened, but if it so happened that the mares here stayed they would be at the mercy of any passing brute. No, the colt didn't doubt their ability to take care of themselves but with their young....Well anything could happen.
If he so desired, he could claim this for his own. This was another option he had considered. It was favoured above the other one. That way, if Incognito even resurfaced, his land would be safe and sound. It was a reason, the excuse he was using to claim this land. He believed it too.
"Greetings Silver Arrow, Boodica."
Donovan's voice was exactly cold, but neither was it happy go luck or naive. It was raspy more like, a whisper. Ghost like. He had heard the last of Arrow's offer. It sounded good enough for him, being as it was. Donovan was too young to properly raise children of his own yet and Arrow seemed like a nice enough stallion. If Boodica wished to go with him, Donovan would have no protest.

Boodica stood letting the thoughts roll over in her head, when Donovan approached she nodded once against. Sighing softly as Nytec snorted at his half brother, Roman turning tail and began to nurse silently. Nodding her cranium to Silver Arrow.
"We will gladly join you for a while, though I must know that I am free to leave when the time comes. Do we have an accord?"
She asked as she looked upon the twice painted stallion.

The stallion smiled softly and nodded. Moving to her, he nipped her lightly, claimg her for the time being. Nodding to her question he doubted Incognito would return. Flicking his tail he bent his neck down and nuzzled one of the colts, welcomg them both to his herd. As they were now his sons, figuritavely.
Moving slowly forward he would continue to his land, in hopes the mare and colts would like it.
