Appendages shifted with even rhythm beneath ebony frame, pace kept at a satisifying trot with caustic irons connecting with a 'thud' against the tough abode of Silver Arrow. I was well aware of where I was at, but also knew that this was an ally; my most recent ally. I felt him to be the most reliable in satisfying my needs - seeming a kind and gentle stud. I myself would probably be reluctant to agree to what I was about to propose, but in the end would probably give in. I only hoped that Arrow would hear me out and understand - his forest was perfect for my mares and newborns with a lot of protection and milder temperatures. I myself still had snow upon my back from the harsh weather of the mountain and my entire body seemed drenched with sweat, although it was naught but snow that had melted against my warm flesh. I could survive the winter better than the warmer seasons, but I cared too much for my herd to chance them against the mountain.
Slowing, appendages stopped moving as I stopped and stood motionless for a second. Muscles quivered, momentarily thinking about withdrawing myself and taking chances... no. I would swallow my pride for my son and daughters, for Haviana and Silver Rose, Viali and Boodica.
I better get something for this.
Tone was aggrivated but sarcastic - willing to do this for my herd, but unaccustomed as I called for Silver Arrow.

Silver Arrow's black and white hooves were on the move again. It wasn't cold in his forests, but it wasn't warm. Light and delicate flakes oddly fell through the trees, his creek mostly covered over. He caught the scent of ally... Incognito? He slowed his pace, knowing he and his herd were going to be fine. Stallion came into orbs at the edge of his woods and he slowed and smiled. Dipping painted skull Arrow greeted the friend. "Incognito, what brings you to these woods, ally?" He asked with a strong, kind voice.
Mane shook as whipcord cut into the cold air. He didn't realize how much colder it was on the edge, wind flew, picking up the snow, the temperature must be down by 5 degrees in the forest, and it was comfortable in there.

Russet hued orbs shifted within elliptical depressions, bringing my gaze to the multi-hued, approaching frame of Silver Arrow. Aerial sensors were half inclined but not fully, revealing obvious insecurity has to how I would be recieved. There was no aggression but I remained defensive, I was also a very proud stallion and fought internally with myself over leaving and staying, being respectful and submissive or just plain arrogant. I figured an even mixture would do, and assumed Arrow knew me well enough - or heard enough - that I was a very regal, proud stud, so my being here was a blow to me ego as it was.
Aye, greetings, Silver Arrow. Skull nodded slightly and welcome and respect. I did not submit, but understood my position. We were not acquainted well enough for me to shorten his name and so his full allias was used - words cool and confident, but with obvious signs of internal conflict. Almost all of my mares have just recently given birth, so neither my newborns nor their mothers can make their way to the caves of my mountain for protection from the winter. Even then I fear the weather may still weakened my herd, and so I ask that you allow myself, my mares and my offspring to reside here until the Spring when we will immediately return. I paused, letting the words sit with him, hoping that if I got nothing that he would pity my mares. We will remain respectful of you and your lead mare, as well as your herd. In return for your permission to keep my herd here and protect those of my herd, I will protect your herd as well, and perhaps give you one of my daughters when mature - if you wish.
What use did I have for my daughters anyway? They would be run off once they were three anyways. I waited patiently.

Arrow came up in a leisurely, calm stance. With a little bit of protection, but calm none the less. "Hello Incognito." He smiled briefly, then it left his maw. He knew the stallion had something to ask, auds listened. His words seemed a little hasty, like it was hard to ask. But unlike some stupid stallions, who would make fun of the stallion who asked a favour, and get on his nerves. But Silver Arrow was better than that and said nothing until his ally was done.
"Well Incognito." But Silver arrow was cut off, Incognito was trying to convince him with more words.. He smiled when Incognito said he could have a daughter, and that was good. They would enjoy it here. "Well Incognito." A calm cool voice spoke again. "I have much to say, first I would like to congratulate you with the growth of your herd. Second, that is a problem and I see why you came to me, my forests are sheltered and warmer than a mountain or field. And third, I would like to say yes, I think that woild be alright. Like you said, as long as you are respecful to my herd, and mine will respect yours."
The brute smiled, he liked this. "And I would very much accept a daughter. But please, next time you ask my help, if you ever do, I do not need anything in return. But winter is coming quickly, you best get your herd and come, before the next full moon." His tail flicked and he tossed his mane. He felt he could trust Incognito, that he would not steal his mares, and if he did he could never request help again, and Arrow would steal TWO of his.

I could have assumed that Silver Arrow would be more than welcoming to mine and my herd, without the bribery of one of my daughters. I considered it rude for the brute not to gain something from the experience aside from just having my protection while I was here. I did not doubt he would accept my request, especially with the incentives it harbored, but the none-the-less I held my breath momentarily. Waiting and seeking the answer I appeared nervous, but I was more antsy just from being in the prescence of another stallion than my reasoning for being here. It was the anxiety of the two matters combined that caused me so much stress, changing my outward demeanor from its typically placid though slightly callous self, to on edge and seeming schizophrenic.
Auds pricked forward, at first not hearing what the brute said. Congratulations? I did not expect that but nodded my head in gratitude none-the-less. A smile trickled to kissed lips as he accepted my proposal as well as one of my daughters and I snorted as a sign of relief. Skull lifted slightly though there was admiration upon my features for Silver Arrow as he finished speaking. I nodded to him once more before own labrums parted - husky tones escaping me, but shallow so that they were almost whispered.
I do request, from pure understanding of being a stallion, then neither of us make any mention of this meeting.
I spoke honestly, not trying to insult the brute but trying to protect us both. We both could be considered weak - I for seeking help from another stallion, and Silver Arrow for giving it to me. Being so kind to one another regardless of our alliances could prove fatale, and I felt it nessicary to act as if our meeting was a brief one, nothing but conversation of survival and Arrow's strict decision to allow me to sub-herd; lacking the intimacy that was truely present in our meeting.
I shall return soon with my herd, Silver Arrow, and discuss with my mares the daughter of mine that shall be yours.

Arrow was happy, with letting the brute stay atleast, ans hid herd. "Incognito, I shall summon my herd, and wait here for a save arrival. As Wolves to roam these woods, though two brutes can keep them away no doubt. I will be here. And I understand, I shall speak of this no one else." She smiled and flicked his tail as he snorted softly a good bye and turned around to gather his herd. -Make a new thread? -
