I will not make the same mistakes that you did I will not let myself Cause my heart so much misery I will not break the way you did,
Irrevocably, she had come to thoughts of her mother. She hadn't meant to become focused on her. She had just been thinking of Donovan, and with that Incognito. With some trailing off, it had come to thoughts of her sire and then her dam. It was one topic that Kishi never hoped to think of again after the first terrible months of separation from her family. Now, as she had her own child's welfare to consider, she had remembered what her dam had done. Just left them, alone and borderline insane.
She swore again, that she would never do this to her own child and be a perfect mother. She had to be; she couldn't live happily otherwise. Viali would not force her son to become insane just to deal with the hurt, the pounding pain. She had thought that she had made her heart frozen again, covering it with enough ice and tears to make sure that no one would even be able to hurt her again. Now, only her memories haunted her.
A tear rolled slowly down, darkening the fur underneath it, barely visible in the evening. Donovan was asleep, his breath slow and even; her breath was hitched. Snow fell around her, the melting water coloring her pelt. The tree offered some shelter from the weather; not from her memories though...
You fell so hard I've learned the hard way To never let it get that far

Placid gaze searched the mountain side which had become a blur of cadaverous hued colours. The mountain was very bland in description anyways when it came to its appearance - nothing but rocks and boulders, compact, brown terrain with a few tufts of grass and randomly placed trees. Now however, everything was white - there was no colour and nothing to set anything apart, for even Incognito was covered in the snow. The frozen water had bee falling for most of the day and the brute had just been standing calmly in it, allowing it to cleanse his body. He could sense another horse near him, though more so he sensed some sort of dispair. Valves flared as he inhaled the atmospheric gases, curious of who it was. He could smell his only son, Donovan, and immediately knew the mare...
Stepping lightly across the ground, Incognito managed to navigate the slippering topography with extreme ease. Breathe escaped him in obvious plumes for flaring nostrils, gaze direct on the dormant frame of Viali. Ever since meeting her he had sensed something peculiar about her, something odd that did not offend him but made him curious. After she had birthed and greeted him where all the mares gathered to show off their jewels, her actions and words were very different than normal. He did not try and hide what he sensed, more than anything projecting it forward to the mare to perhaps entice her to share her secrets. There was no provoking or goading though, especially now as he came slowly to her side. Gaze landed upon Donovan's sleeping frame, cranium lowering to brush some of the snow from his flesh; tenderly though, with no intention of waking him. His body somewhat hovered over the foal, although his own ebon pelt touched Viali's affectionately and providing her with as much warmth as she would accept - offering himself as some sort of protection, just as the tree.
The first to carry my foal as well as my only son and noble foal. You are something else, Viali.
Muzzle touched hers ever so briefly, praising and congratulatory befor withdrawing and staring calmly; waiting.
Word Count: 360 My Muse Level: bad/average/good/excellent My Mood: Meh. Alright. Incognito's Mood: Concerned, as always when it comes to Viali

Viali tensed, her ears flickering as Incognito approached them. Plans of action ran through her mind, telling her to stop the black stallion from touching her colt. Muscles ripped slightly as she contemplated moving forward, icy breath outlined in the chilled air.
