how long have I been in this storm so overwhelmed by the ocean's shapeless form water's getting harder to tread with these waves crashing over my head
Kishi was keeping up a good composure for one that may have just found out that her family was about to fall about. Her face remained stoically calm, and she merely batted an eye at the her words.
Her thoughts did not race, her mind did not scramble to come up with a reason for these words. Later on, perhaps she would think if the image was even true, if the horse had easily lied to them knowing that they would not know. She would maybe think about how long ago this had happened, and if long back then, had she been broken from the start. If more recent, then the most basic question would surface. Why?
"And...?"
Her tone was not curt, nor aggressive, though as usual it echoed strangely, more than it had before as it was now touched with sadness. It was merely calm, numb. As Kishi was, once again in her shell. Storing the disturbing thoughts away, to have them come out again in nightmares and whispy thoughts. It had been similar when she had lost her friends. Shame it had to happen now, the cross-breed had almost been her happy-normal-self.
A nightmare woke her. She who had not had a nightmare since she was but a tiny filly, had the worse one. Kishi woke up feeling icy-numb. Eurycleia was being uncomfortably silent, the only sign of her presence was a low hissing-breathing. Eury! Kishi mentally called out to her other personality. 'Yes' Eury drawled, in that odd curt tone of hers. 'You mind taking control for a bit? I..I have to think.' A mental nod of assurance came from the more sadistic half and Kishi released her 'control'.
Eury straightened herself, her teal eyes narrowing. It was shaping up to be a warm day, with a high humidity. The friesian -quarter horse would need more water. Drawing her attention away from the sunrise, she began to search for some sort of body of water. Ansty, she began to fidget after seconds and decided that there would have to be water somewhere ahead.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It must have been an hour later, and she still had not found any liquid. The skies looked like rain, a heavy downpour was going to come soon. Eury was grumbling heavily; her ears were pointed back, and her eyes were slits. Kishi was still at rest, so Eury was left alone in the little meadow that she had just stepped/slid into.

Melanoid patron slinked between within the silhouettes cast by the mountains. Its massive peaks cast shadows towards the devil’s den, manifesting the descending rain into an impenetrable expanse dense liquid. There was no moon to cast its luminance upon the land, thus no light to reflect the thin sheets of rain. There seemed only darkness prevailing on this early evening, yet some amount of pallid luminosity managed to ripple across the brute’s masculine frame. Muscular tapestry undulated beneath his hide, every sinew attracting some unknown light proffered by the sky. Caustic irons made no impression upon the topographical façade as they merely splashed into the muck that was the Delepio Meadow. He moved stealthily through the now unfamiliar land, the massive amount of rain transforming the meadows and erasing the paths he knew. As ochroid visionaries shifted within elliptical depressions, gaze landed on nothing but the silhouettes of what few trees were here. There were no mares - none that he could see - and the dampness of the atmosphere prevented him from scenting any of them. He didn't know if the drought had killed the plenty of mares that were usually here, or if the rain hed caused them to take cover... Maybe they had just all been claimed, that was a striking idea. After all, Incognito had not been here in a while - not exactly satisifed with the mares he had, though not finding them entirely intolerable.
Aerial sensors twitched and moved though it was hardly noticeable, fearing the water may penatrate his auds. This down pour was hardly allowing him to seek out any nomadic mares, and thus he found himself ready to leave. Just then the rain seemed to stop suddenly, a sun revealing its fiery facade though hardly piercing the dark clouds that still reigned supreme across the sky. A few rays here and their danced, illuminating his ebon cadaver as he stopped to take in the scenery. Single mare was seen in the distance, ebon pupils dilating and contracting to take her refined body in. Dial tossed as he called to her, looking at her inquiringly before making his approach. Appendages moved swiftly beneath him, hooves biting at the soft ground though hardly making a mark. Muscular curvature was arched regally, cognitive facilities slightly elevated as he came upon her.
Pace slowed, dial tilting slightly in a nod of acknowledgement. Caudal appendage flicked casually behind him though smacked his hindquarters with what seemed intentional malice due to them being wait. Snort escaped him just before he spoke, as if to clear his throat.
Welcome to Delepio Meadows, a land of claiming. My name is Incognito.
Intentions were obvious, there was no hiding it. He came here for a mare and had found one, and he liked her. He wanted her and would have her, though it was much better in them both to go through acquainting and him being gentle in his claim versus forcing her. He would just have to see how that would go, not knowing how the mare would react to him and his statement. ooc| post complete // partially copied, muse is low x0

how long have I been in this storm so overwhelmed by the ocean's shapeless form water's getting harder to tread with these waves crashing over my head
Rain. How she hated it.
Well, it wasn’t rain that she hated so much; it was what it left behind. It was a common misconception that all horses like the water; that they would play in it like some rangy dog-wolf mongrel. Rain was nice enough when it was raining, but once it was gone, it left behind a nasty, soggy feeling that was either freezing cold or humidly muggy that got under her skin and squelched between her hoofs, digging under them and staining her coat and making it a nuisance to get out.
A sigh escaped her, allowing the air to rush from her lungs. She felt the pressure around her ribcage release, and the taunt skin relax into it's natural place. Peace. What was it? How did one define it? And, most importantly, how did one achieve it? What was it that one achieved, that lent them that look of contentment, that contentment to stay where they were, to live and let live, forget and forgive, and move on?
Is there even such a thing as 'peace'? If so Kishi had never known of it. Most of her life had been spent in the shadows, standing on the sidelines as others cycled through their lives. It was interesting how some of them plundered through a repetitive life, not knowing, not appreciating what they had. A mare of unknown name and origin had been sighted by Kishi often as she allowed herself to be seen. This unknown had went through stallions like candy, inhaling them before ever getting a taste. She had been easily tricked with insincere flattery and half-truths. It was mares such as her that had so far continued on the line of ignorant and weak horses that had no chance at a future.
Sad, really. Mindless drones endlessly following another not knowing that there was more to life than that. All to often they were mocked behind their back by others that thought they were different from the rest. A few were, yes. Others thought they were unique, but ended up with a past as clique as the less intelligent ones.
Kishi was very critical by nature and held everyone to such a high line that no matter what they tried to do they would fail. Rarely did something satisfy her. Eurycleia was even more so, but she held everyone to such low standards that she was surprised at small accomplishments. Even the most basic of niceties from a brute would make her stumble her words.
Patience was not one of Eurys values so when the Friesian approached them, she released the control to Kishi muttering something about 'imbecilic brutes...' and how they always ruin every thing. Kishi although disagreeing, didn't bother to argue with her, aware that Eury rarely changed opinions.
"Incognito, my name is Viali."
On the rare occasion when Eury was in control she gave this name as well, so there would be no confusion if they met someone that they knew. Only those close to her were allowed to know her full name. Even friends had taken Viali as her real name. It came easily, and in her standard calm tone. Emotion rarely passed her lips, and that was only in anger.

The mare’s blissful and placid reaction may have ignited surprise in some stallions, as her simple retort was indeed surprising, but Incognito did not seem receptive to the mare’s meager introduction. He only nodded to her as a way of acknowledging that he had heard a sort of gentle shift of his cranium, a slow motion that could go unnoticed. There was something oddly peculiar about this fatale, something that the czar could not pin-point but was somehow aware of. He brushed it off as casually as a fly and smiled politely at her, a welcome gesture though not all together sincere. Aerial sensors were now erect with attention, the silence enveloping them aside from the constant tapping of falling rain. The clouds drifted even more across the sky, seeming to amble by with precision across the luminescent moon with every intention of keeping the light to them. Caudal appendage shifted lazily upon hind legs as the wind grabbed them, grasping at his flesh with what seemed honest malice, as if to entice the stallion to do something he should not. He could and was fully empowered to do so, but only grinned sadistically at the idea and snorting to cast it away.
Cranium tossed and sprayed the water which had gathered upon his façade, aureate orbs glistening with intensity and interest. He was sure the mare, Viali, could assume his intentions and the words that may come. He didn’t know if she was aware that he could force her into not only being claimed, but bred as well. He had given all of his mare’s choice thus far with foals and none had even spoken with him about it, and he was getting tired of having not even offspring on the way. He was very much unconcerned with them right now, only interest on Viali and letting her know simply with the attentiveness he proffered her.
Viali, did you come here with the knowledge and intention of this land, or did you just happen upon it by mistake?
This was information he desired to know, otherwise he would not have asked. Those who were unfamiliar with this region as a whole may not know the Delepio Meadows was a place for mares to be claimed, and if Viali came here without that knowledge then she may not want a herd. This did not mean Incognito would not claim the mare as his own, but it was encouraging for the mare that he was showing some sensitivity over the matter.

how long have I been in this storm so overwhelmed by the ocean's shapeless form water's getting harder to tread with these waves crashing over my head
She could just envision the reaction of her current herd of residence, or whatever she wanted to call them, or whatever they were, if they knew why she had wandered miles away through the lands of darkness, doing the things she just did. Oh yeah, she could see it so clearly. Oh nah, wasn't doing much. Just musing about, running in a thunderstorm here, scaring foals there....
Not that she cared what they would have thought. Kishi didn't care as to what anyone thought these days; she was all for advocating the right to Independence. Not that she had much other choice; she was so incredibly screwed in so many ways that caring about the opinions of others would just be even more detrimental to her health. Besides, what was stopping them from finding some fault with her, and abandoning her like the ones who she had presumed was supposed to care for her had? No, she didn't care for anyone else's opinions at all.
Perhaps this was why she didn't pay any mind to the stallions detachment. Another viable excuse would be that she just didn't notice it. She didn't pay attention to the petty emotions of others, Eury did that. Her darker half judged people upon first impressions and without any back ground. She picked up easily on little things others might miss, little things that seemed of little importance. Eury noticed how the stallion picked up on Kishi's mental problems, and the sadistic little grin upon his facade that was gone after only a second as if the thought behind it had been cast away to be brought up at a later, more convenient time. Those things were of a great matter to Eury and she retreated into silence.
The clouds were probing dramatically across the sky that was their theatre: their low-swung bellies were the curtains, the tremulous rain and poised thunder waiting to perform. Thick fingers of shadow lay accusing across the disturbed grass; they ran from the trees, the rocks, the distant hillside, until they were consumed by the vast, gaping fissure, swamped in inky black. All was silent, but the plains were smothered with that oppressive apprehension, that stillness shot through with shivers of half-movement.
" I came here unaware of what this place was 'till you spoke of it's name. In truth, however, I was seeking a place of similar purpose."
Eury had long since told Viali what Incognito was intending, but had been unsure of the way he was going to approach it. His intentions were clear in her mind; no doubt if was to protest she would be forced into coming. It seemed as if he wanted a cooperative fae, on that wouldn't cause him trouble by escaping all the time. Kishi didn't mind staying in one place for an extended period of time; there was plenty of other ways to make trouble. A wry grin danced on her mask, otherwise emotionless.

Scarred flesh tensed as the brute became chilled by the gusts of wind, ebon tapestry noticeably twitching and undulating as his skin seemed to crawl. The discomfort could not surface upon his façade, a meager emotion of inquisition plastered their instead. Left appendage instead bent, joints creaking from standing for such a long period of time, caustic iron momentarily hovering above the ground before he stomped the ground. The sinew strapped across his chest and left shoulder shuttered from influence, minute rays of light shimmering and highlighting the movement though not prevailing in warming his massive frame. Gaze remained pinned upon Viali as if she may disappear if he looked away, and in truth that could become a reality of another stallion came or she did not desire his company any longer. This omnipresent thought became sinister, though more to the dislike of another brute encroaching upon his presence than anything else. Cranium turned from side to side as if to look at her with all angles, curious about all of her in her entirety, wondering what the darkness may be hiding from him. The elegance which her body offered him was enticing, her very existence possibly making him vulnerable to the instinct of desires. Such was resisted, the difference in her demeanor a nagging reminder that she was peculiar, though perhaps not in a fowl way. This did not change his mind on wanting her, though wondered if his desire for a foal would change her mind – some were only so willing.
Thoughts changed from images to smoke before blowing away with the wind, Viali’s words attracting his attention and concentration. Her reply was pleasing, and so he smiled accordingly before muscular curvature extended his dial towards her. Incisors flashed briefly, seeming to be the purest thing about him as he nipped her shoulder to claim her. It was an authentic gesture provoked from her words, and it seemed as if rebelling against the motion could cause some harm to the mare. Incognito was not the sort, though his authoritative mannerisms made it clear he wasn’t one to submit so easily.
Nape returned to its arched posture, dial held high as he withdrew and looked at Viali with that same, direct stare.
Then consider the purpose fulfilled.
Grin was present was more, auds quivering as he now anticipated something - from the mare, from another horse, or maybe even from their surroundings. He was just protective, far from threatened, though slightly anxious. When he spoke again, his tone was a little quieter but not meek - still strict and placid.
Now how do you feel about being the first mare to carry my foal?
The question seemed simple enough, like an inquiry that just needed answering and nothing more. He could be hiding things just like Viali however, and he pulled it off just as accurately with a now blank facade and calm posture. Incognito could easily choose between being a stallion and being a stud. Now he was being a bit of both since he had requested the same from Haviana, but after all he had done for her and she had done nothing but tease him, like it was his job to chase her around some more after he had already done it - not for the matter of love, but seeking some sort of companionship. Incognito usually got what he wanted, and if Haviana would not give it to him then maybe, though he doubted it, Viali would.

Then consider the purpose fulfilled. His words brushed by her ears, barely audible. The raindrops wormed against her stolid frame, little bullet holes of wet darkness. A few despondent flies still whirred with intrepid hope about her person, but they were quickly dispelled by snapping curves of tainted tail; and besides, a bite or two was not likely to kill her. A fresh droplet landed with an explosion of spectrum colour upon his nose, trickling across her quivering nostrils to settle upon her lips. The mare shook her head, dislodging yet more of the tiny shards of water; her gaze wandered past the swathes of shivering grass, boring into the stark silhouette of a lone tree. She had never minded rain, yet neither was it her desire to be drenched: besides, lightning had always... unnerved her, slightly.
Viali was tense, her muscles quivered slightly. Something akin to fury passed beneath the teal globes. So much bubbled underneath the surface, like a volcano in preparation to explode. Anger was a strange, and unknown emotion in Kishi. In mild irritation, she would often seem much more furious than usual. Her throat would begin to close, her nostrils flaring. Her words would be meant to inflict pain, without regret or remorse.
In rage, she had a very much different behavioral pattern. She would stiffen, her body quivering with tension. Teal eyes would constrict to mere slits, and hatred would become so very clear. Kishi was a intimidating creature even when delighted. When angered, it became a whole different type of frightening. The latter was what she felt and looked now.
Constricted eyes looked down, her nape creasing as it was lowered. Two crimson half-moons were vibrant as they lay upon her pale coat. Kishi said nothing, only slowly, stiffly as if restraining herself, raised her head up again to face the stallion.
More raindrops found their way onto her quickly darkening pelt, than ran in little rivets down her barrel and to her legs, creating stripes much like that of a zebra, only thinner. Viali stomped her hoof into the marshy ground, looking at the imprint for a moment when she removed her foot from the hole she'd made. Ears flicked towards it then back into a more furious position.
Her legs shook hard as she followed her into the forest. She ignored the fact that her actions were useless, and paid more attention to the trail. The evidence of her path had disappeared instantly. There were no hoof prints, the leaves were still again, her scent was washed away by the light drizzle, but she walked forward without thinking. She could not do anything else. She had to keep moving. If she stopped looking for her, it was over.
Love, life, meaning… over.
She walked and walked. Time made no sense as she pushed slowly through the thick undergrowth. It was hours passing, but also only seconds. Maybe it felt like time had frozen because the forest looked the same no matter how far she went. She started to worry that she was traveling in a circle, a very small circle at that, but she kept going. She stumbled often on those wiry legs that still belonged to a growing filly, and, as it grew darker and darker, she fell often, too. finally, She tripped over something and she stayed down. It was much too dark to look and see what she’d tripped on; she would not have cared to, either.
The memory was unfitting for the circumstance. It had been of when her mother had first left them, but Viali had grown far past that. Her feelings on the subject had been long drowned. Perhaps this was Eury's vision, as it was when she had first appeared, on that dreary night. The anger was what had created her. It must have been her current outward appearance that caused Eury to think of such horrible things.
Refocusing, teal orbs met his eyes. Her teeth were pressed against each other in anger. She spoke. "I suppose this means no more rambling around like an idiot, then?" Although her tone was hateful, her eyes suggested differently. They glowed with barely concealed mirth, twinkling with something akin to happiness.
Now, she moved on, to his next question. Wasting no fake emotion on this, her trick wouldn't work twice in a row. " 'Tis difficult to name what I feel at the best of times, but you could say I feel happy, Incognito" Viali said, delight overlaying the more serious tone tone. Kishi realized she was trembling slightly, but not enough so that the brute could notice it. She was not a very good fox; it had never prevented her from succeeding. It was not like she tried to be a flirt, she didn't , she had no desire to be normal.

The rain was now doing well in drenching both he and his new fatale, falling heavily and without mercy. Auds were pinned to his skull again, the tresses upon his arched nape feeling more like heavy drapery. Lids half covered his auburn acoustics, vision blurred as droplets pressed into his eyes and he forgot to blink. Visionaries were moistened as lids closed, and kept closed for a moment as if he was going to sleep. Dial did not relax however and his muscular curvature remained poised with authority. Moon became reflected in the auburn hues as he opened his eyes again, looking upon the delicate frame of the mare. She had not moved and the storm did well any hiding any other minor changes that may have surfaced. He sighed, finding the routine monotonous, the mare the only thing keeping him from herding her off to his land. Auds pricked slightly as she spoke, causing him to smirk at her remark, retorting quite mockingly, though with very little ill or malicious intention.
I don’t know Viali, does it?
Czar was direct with his words though smiled comically at her, the question naturally rhetorical as he continued to watch her. She was his by claim; he had every right to her and need no permission to breed. Incognito was not the heartless bastard he came off to be, though was deprived of a kind soul. The mare seemed indecisive over everything, especially when it came to herself. It was as if she could better view and explain his emotions than her own. He hoped she wasn’t some depressed wench, recovering from a horrible past. It was very cliché and it aggravated the brute to think about it. Whether or not this was true of Viali, she seemed to hold herself together quite well. Incognito was just too insightful and observant of horses, and having experienced a variety of mares over his life it was a lot easier to him than most studs to identify malfunctions or differences. This was not to say that Viali wasn’t functional, and he didn’t consider her an oddity. She was unique, far past just her looks or personality that separated every horse. There was something deeper, but he didn’t want to know what it was. He didn’t care, as long as it didn’t interfere with him and his life – their life.
Dial nodded, far from dissecting Viali’s words to his breeding request as he comprehended the underlying agreement. Appendages shifted his large, muscular frame, suddenly heavy with the added amount of rain upon his body. He brought himself to her right side and nipped at her hindquarters, a simple urge in the direction of the Hickaria Forests. He pranced slightly, evidence of courtship though it was tamed, unknowing of how receptive Viali would be to it. None could deny instinct and it was coming through on his part, and he only assumed that with a little coaxing it would as well from the mare – regardless of her attitude.
ooc| Hopefully she doesn't hate him now. He's flirty, through instinct though. He likes Viali lotzzzz - pets her -

Viali wasn't normal, she wasn't cliqued. Her pelt a color more rare, different from the normal browns and whites. Champagne, was what her coloring was labeled as. She had liked the ring of the words when she was a filly, just learning her words. Her breed was nothing overly special alone, although together it created an interesting look. Friesians here were very common, it seemed. Viali had nothing against the breed, she didn't judge by blood. She had most of a quarter horse build, with a bit more of a royal look and feathers from her Friesian ancestry. Her cares about those things were minor; her pelt could be in total disarray, and she wouldn't care. It was her teal eyes that she was fascinated with; they were the pride and joy of her appearance.
Her quirky personality set her apart from most, it was outside any preset guidelines. There were those who were bubbly and simplistic, whose bodies only hosted one emotion at a time. They were very easy to understand, and took everything at it's face value. These were the mares she looked down upon.
Then, on the other side of spectrum, were the more malicious horses. They varied, some being as simplistic and imbecilic as their counterparts, other being more complex but all the same, with little defining lines between one and another. Most of those thought killing made them 'evil'. There was no honor in senseless murder. It was despicable, and it sickened her. She felt pity for the souls that felt like this made them frightening.
The only ones that she felt any respect for were the more neutral ones. They may be sadistic and cruel or pleasant and kind. Yet they felt emotion. They were the more complex; their past, their raising was part of what they where. If anywhere, she would fit in with those of a more neutral alliance were there such things.
Her personality was different, layered even. It was either pleasant or sadistic upon first meeting depending on her mood and want impression she desired they have of her. Underneath that lie to more layers, of either a kind, innocent mare who meant no fatal harm or a sadistic, cruel one who meant to have the world in her hands. Kishi was unsure of which one was truly her, as they rotated their positions so often.
Kishi wasn't a flirt in general. Every action that she did, while perhaps having a hidden meaning, were not all meant to impress a stud. Still, when finding someone she thought she may like she would flirt or at the very least show that she felt some affection.
Incognito pranced slightly beside her, after a light nip. She was unsure of where to go, she would have to rely on the black brute to guide her. Kishi grinned, in a flirty-happy fashion. The cross-breed walked with a bounce, unseen before.
ooc; should we end this here and start a thread in Hickaria Forests or just say it happened (can we even do that?) and I'll post in the herd meeting?

you can post at the herd meeting, I'll make the ooc thread.
