The sun was just rising over the horizon, but the two had been awake for the better part of the night, traveling, trying to find a safe place to sleep and regain their strength. The filly was tired, but her mother had pressed on. The sooner they found comfort and safety, the better it would be for them. Chocolate Shaik looked down at her daughter, wishing that they had never been chased away. Traveling was hard on one so young. Finally, as they entered the meadow, she slowed down. She was exhausted, her muscles ached, and her lungs were telling her to stop too. She let out a sigh, head finally hanging down. Sleep was trying to drown her, but no, she could not. The bay filly, Kyss, collapsed beside her mother, eyes closing quickly as she curled up, catching whatever nap she could before they went on. The snow was cold but she did not care. Her chestnut mother started to unveil the ground, trying to find whatever treasures she could that could sustain her for a while. If she did not eat, she could not produce milk. And then, Kyss might starve. Her ears twirled around on her head, listening for any noise of an intruder. There would be none. She would make sure of that.

Dark Knight galloped up to the beautiful mare and her foal. Bowing his head he said. "Hello Ma'am, and Miss." He winked. "I am Dark Knight, you may call me Knight." He said. "May I know your and your beautiful fillies name?" He asked.

Dead End galloped in, his heavy hooves making the ground shake, and the trees seemingly tremble. He bowed to the mare and the filly. Hello. I am Dead End. May I know you're names? he asked.

He looked at the stallion and nodded. He did not seem very welcoming... a little rough. He looked back at the beautiful mare and filly and smiled. His lead would welcome them.

"You two are somewhat idiotic for just trying to get them in your herd, when it's obvious they're exhausted, there might be something wrong with them you know," a voice boomed behind them as onyx orbs studied the mare and filly, before the ivory demon let his colorless hooves thud past the two other stallions and to them, taking in their scent. He looked them up and down to check for any wounds, and watched the little one sleep with a light glimmer of care in his sinister eyes. He had a colt of his own, and knew the feeling of being worried over a foal.
"Neither of you are hurt are you? Tiredness must be making you feel terrible," Zanziber spoke, his tone gruff and not very concering though in truth he was a little. He wasn't the type to show feelings, and the only reason he came over was to make sure they were okay. He may be coldhearted, but his tender sweet side would always return when he saw those who might be in need of help. He pawed the ground, finding a patch of grass and softly speaking to the chestnut mare,"You must be hungry, here's some grass."
He never once made eye contact with either of them, his tail swishing as his muscles rippled under his white coat, showing his true strength with small movements as his neck was arched and he continued to paw away the melting snow for the mare to eat, so her milk would remain for her filly. His eyes landed on the said filly who seemed to be sleeping, and thought to himself slowly as he stepped to the side for the mare to eat, My son might like her...He will be harsh when first meeting her, but she will be a good playmate for him. Trixah will be protective though...I'll explain to her the truth. He began to groom his legs after shaking his well built and powerful skull, and letting his ivory whipcord lash at his hocks calmly.

All of a sudden there was one, no two, now three horses around them. Ears quickly turned and laid flat against her skull. All three were stallions of varying personalities, but none of them would ever get near her precious foal. She heard them speak, watched as one tried to help her, but that did not soften her heart any. Our names are not important. Tell names to complete strangers, yeah right! She moved in front of her filly, who scrambled up when she heard the ruckus, blocking her as much as possible from view. They knew she was there, but at least she was protected...sort of.

Dark Knight nodded and took a step back. "Sorry if I am crowding you." He said with a smile. "But I would love to have you and your filly in my herd..." He added. He pawed the ground and looked around... they were both beautiful, and Bubbles would like them.

"Don't get hostile, I was only trying to help," he snorted, onyx eyes glinting as his ears went flat and he took a step back, pawing the ground and holding his head high, no longer thinking of her joining his herd,"Be stubborn then, starve then." He kept an eye on her, head held proudly high and his neck arched, one hoof in the air as he snorted and looked to the sky.
He shook his coat and snorted once more, before stretching and muttering to the mare,"Zanziber, that's my name if it will make you feel any better." He looked her up and down, not really caring about her hostility and taking a few nips at his legs before proudly raising his powerful head once more, looking the mare right in the eyes.

He looked at 'Zanzibar', Then shook his head. "Dont be rude, she is trying to protect her filly." He said. "I dont see any fault in that." He added harshly.
He looked around once more and sighed. "Ma'am, I can offer you a position in my herd. You will be one of my favored mares, your filly will grow up strong. My lead will welcome you and your filly." He said. "The choice is yours, I will not force you to come with me." He added kindly.

"You call me rude when all you're focusing on is getting the mare into your herd. Maybe she's protecting her foal for a reason," he sneered lightly, not caring for Knight's attitude and looking at the chestnut mare and then the bay filly with a calm expression, that caring glimmer still in his onyx depths before snorting and trotting around the two before slowly away and a few feet away, acting as if he were going to leave while talking,"But yeah miss, have fun talking to the stallion that just seems to want you for your foal to grow strong then breed you for his own benefit." He tossed his head carelessly, not caring what anyone said before beginning to slowly walk, as if he were going to leave when if he did, he was going to keep an eye on the mare and foal to see if they turned out okay.

He snorted and looked after him. Keeping calm he said. "I would not breed her if she did not want to be bred. Unlike other stallions here. Im not all about keeping my bloodlines alive, I respect the mares in my herd and keep them safe." He added. He turned to the mare and tried to smile. He would not breed her if she did not want to be bred! It made him angry that the stallion would say something like that.

Kyss thought these words were all nonsense. All she knew was that there were too many horses crowded around them, and all she wanted to do was escape. She tried looking up at her mother with pleading eyes, but Shaik was watching the two having a spat with an alertness to make sure they were not all of a sudden going to start fighting. The stallion, Dark Knight, declared he would not breed her if she so requested. But how was she to know him to be true? Brutes were wily creatures who could trick a mare into whatever if they had a sly wit and fast tongue. She did not know what to do in this situation. One, yes. Two, maybe. But three? No. At least one was walking away, which made her a tiny bit calmer. What do you have to offer? She asked Dark Knight, watching him with a careful eye.

He turned back to the mare and her filly. "I have a lead, but she is kind and welcoming. My terra is a beach, with grass around the outside, and fresh water in a safe little pool." He said. He looked at her filly, then her. "I will not force you to come, but I promise you will like it there." He added.

"You may ask for her permission but I wouldn't breed her at all," the stallion snorted before trotting off. He kept a calm gate and once a few feet away and out of sight along with scent, he turned around into the forest, keeping a light pace until he stopped so he still couldn't be scented, and looked at the mare calmly. The little filly caught his attention again, but had an emotionless expression as he watched the two quietly. He wanted these two in his herd now, but didn't know how to be charming like that one. He mentally kicked himself at not being able to charm the mares he wanted, and shook his strong head silently, hoping not to be heard.

He snorted at him, annoyed. But didn't show it in his face. What was that suppose to mean? Not breed her at all? He watched him leave, then turned back to the mare and her filly. He waited for their answer.
