Scythes merely caressed the ground 'fore her steps were light and rapid. Nigrescent valves flared with the intake and exhale of air, appendages shifting at a casual gait. Her senses were all that she relied on for the moment, and just as she made way into this placid meadow her heart stuttered. Gradually coming to a walk the mare soon stopped, aerial sensors erect in curiosity and valves flaring to smell the air. Nothing was familiar aside from the stench of horses - the perfume of mares, lingering with the musk of stallions. Previously she may have longed for a herd when alone, but now she worried of who she may encounter.
By the mingling smells she assumed this an area of congregation, perhaps a mutal area of claiming. The fact that she was responding to the season by coming in to heat - as other mares probably were - sickened her. Oh, the misery of this time. Surely she would be receptive eventually, and then willing to provide for a stallion - regardless of whether she had a leader or not - but for now she was not an extremly friendly mare. Then again, by most standards, she wasn't very nice to begin with.
Cognitive facilities elevated with auds erect and fiery, auburn orbs directed out to the land. Appendages shifted once more into a forward movement. Bay and crimson hued tapestry glistened in the late, morning sun. The gnats were already a hastle, for even though the constant flick of ebon caudal appendage was natural against her flanks, the buzzing of these pests around her auds was a hastle. Refuge was taken under a tree with its shade providing a comfort as she mingled in the shadows. The mares posture was confident almost to a point of being royal. Every characteristic of her eyes, ears and legs, however, were quite welcoming. This was just Routierre - always vigilant and always satisfied with herself... or at least, seeming so.

Silver Arrow trotted proudly into the Meadow. He snorted and tossed his head, lifting his legs high. He arched his neck and whinnied.
Then slowed to a walk and looked around. He saw a few mares, but none caught his eye. Then he saw a beautiful mare, standing under a tree. She was perfect.
He trotted up to her and bowed. "Hello Miss." He said with a smile. "I am Silver Arrow, you may call me whatever you like. May I know the name of such a beautiful mare?" He asked.
He looked at her, he wanted to make her his lead.

There was much suspicion in the mares auburn orbs as her gaze became glued to an unknown stallion. She had momentarily noticed him before and had watched him look at the other mares - no doubt deciding which he wanted to have. Assuming that these lands were lawless then no doubt a mare only had a choice where she went when there were two studs present, or if it was to some place to be bred. Routierre honestly didn't care though - a herd was a herd, a leader was a leader. If a stallion - such as this one - should desire her but prove to be an incapable Alpha, then she would probably be driven else where to find a better suitor.
This is not to say that had happened in the past and so she was here, and that was not to say that would happen now. These were just thoughts, the instinct of a mare - all mares. Unless love got involved. Then things may be tragic.
So after her attention had been captured by the two-toned brute through his impressive displays and she had wandered into her own mind to think, Routierre quite suddenly found herself face-to-face with him. She blinked to sort of clear her mind, attentive to the stud. Perhaps if she had merely paid attention instead of being side-tracked by her own humoring thoughts, she would have seen this black and white horse eyeing and then approaching her. All well. Aerial sensors perked to his words, having relaxed slightly. Fatale recieved his bow with one of her own - nape arching into a serpentine and dial lowering. His gestures, smiles and words startled her. Not every stallion had been mean to her, but most were plain and authoritative with her regardless of their intentions. This one, Silver Arrow, merely seemed aloof - here for conversation, she guessed.
Well if Silver Arrow be your name, then I shall call you such until perhaps we become further acquainted. His comment in regards to her 'beauty' was amusing, but she accepted it nonetheless. My name is Routierre, pleasure. Nodding again the mare waited. She didn't know anything about this stallion, only his name and what she saw, thus there was nothing more than treating him the way he treated her. Even if he were something special, her actions would still be the same. No need to get fancy, right?

He smiled to her, hoping to have her join his herd. Pawing the ground he snorted. She didn't seem to want canversation, probaby just cautious. He shook his mane and looked at her.
"It is truly nice to meet you Routirerre, I am Silver Arrow, King of the Shadow Forests." He replied. "I have come looking for a mare, fit for lead position. If you would accept it would be nice. If you were to decline, that's fine too. It is your choice, not mine, and I would never force you." He said with a smile.
His coat gleamed in the sun, his tail flicking behind him.

Routierre watched his antics with very little interest or concern, waiting for what else Silver Arrow would have to say. No doubt his name came from the arrow shape imprinted upon his forehead, and upon briefly allowing her gaze to meet his she assumed the 'silver' was derived from his eyes. The constrast of his hues and the sun made the effect of his eyes brighter. The mare did not stare though, simply taking in his features as she listened. Aye, so he was a leader and of the Shadow Forests at that. Truley she had no idea what she was talking about, because she didn't know the land so Shadow Forest was known only to her as Silver Arrow's herd.
Silver Arrow's request seemed genuine, though she anticipated trickery. Was he trying to bribe her with lead position? Could this stallion just know by looking at a mare if she were fit to lead by his side? She had taken some unofficial leadership roles but had never honestly been considered a lead mare - dominant at most. There was always another mare favored above her. So although she was cautious, she could not just accuse this brute and run away. Thus, her reply was made in enough time that showed she was thinking, but not long enough to make the horse think he were being ignored.
Well Lord Silver Arrow, Wow! what a mouthful. But as was nature, there was some respect that came with being a lead - something she would particularly fancy herself, if she ever thought about it. I will accept your offer of joining the Shadow Forests, as well as standing by your side as Lead Mare if you see it fit. Her voice was eager because Routierre was excited, but she was still slightly nervous. She pawed at the ground herself and tossed her dial, meeting her new leaders - and she reckoned mates - gaze, and kept it there.

"We can take it slow, there's no need to be nervous. I have an alliance with another herd, larger then mine by 1 horse. We agreed that we help eachother in fights and watch eachother's land when we are away." I flicked my tail.
"We also have an alliance stating we do not force mares into anything. Anything you want to do in benefit of yourself, is your choice." I dipped my head and took some grass shoots, leaiurly and calmly.

The fae nodded gentle to Silver Arrow. That is good, an alliance. Not forcing as well. She smiled gently at him, watching him eat and flicking her tail, not commenting on taking it slow. By chance will I be acquainted with this allied herd, so I know who they are? First step to being a good leader is knowing your enemies, and your friends.
ooc| sorry so short, in a hurry.

Nodding in agreement, the damsel walked nervously towards Silver Arrow. Cognitive facilities were held neither high nor low, not wanting to seem disrespectful but knowing she didn't have to be submissive. Lead Mare was interesting and so far didn't seem any different from anything else. She was only 5 minutes into the game though, so she knew things would come along. Extreme loyalty to Silver Arrow was one big thing she knew, along with helping him with the herd, and maybe even decisions - she didn't know.
Standing beside him, she waited patiently.
ooc| guess you just wanna post at the herd land?
