(You need to play Melrose now)
Silver Arrow snorted softly at the fae's words. "I will certantly call you Cyprian, until further notice." Smiling gently to assure them no harm. Listening to her words again, not motherly and sweet at all. Nodding he thought it over. "What stallion has given you this foal. And the other?" He scented the two from the air, the colt was hers, smelling of her and a unfamiliar stallion. And the filly, scented of not Cyprian.
Flicking his tail he looked over them, though not much caring. By now his visitors had left, and he would return to the herd soon if the mare didn't prove trustworthy. Though she did and he walked around her, lightly nipping her on the rump. Waiting for her reaction he quickly moved to her face, but giving her space, and would let her get any possible anger out, if that's how she was.
(sorry so short, I have to go to school. Umm, Kishi Viali can stay in Arrow's land, since INco is gone. That would be fun! ))

Her foals at her sides again, Cy relaxed slightly. That slight ease disappeared in a second, as Silver Arrow continued speaking. "What stallion has given you this foal. And the other?" Her maw curled into a semblance of a snarl, much like a cat, and her good eyes narrowed into a line. Cyprian's words were glacial. "I'd warrant you'd live longer if you didn't ask that question again." It was clearly meant for both questions, but Cyprian had much more fury at the first question.
Alistar's sire was not someone that she would go around and spout off his name willy-nilly. And she didn't know enough about Melrose's parents to properly answer. Cyprian hated to lie.
Melrose had started to suckle again, pushing Alistar out of the way. She would have to talk with the colt about his little weaknesses. Cyprian wouldn't raise someone doomed for failure; all her young had grown up strong and dominant (they swore like sailors too, but that wasn't something she considered important.
Cyprian was already on touchy ground with Arrow, and when he lightly nipped her and then darted away (that coward, sneaking in on her blind side and then not staying to face her wrath) she became almost enraged. She reached forward, without thinking of course, and attempted to grip his flesh between his teeth.

Arrow moved away, understading her anger and trying to nip her. "Cyprian I mean no harm. I want the best for you. Would you like to see the rest of the woods?" Looking down sweetly at the colt and filly, feeling almost sorry for the colt, but the colt needed to toughen up or it wouldn't go far in life. Smiling he turned and started walking, encouraging the mare and offspring to come.
Flicking his elegant banner he thought about Routterrie. She had died a few weeks ago, and he still mourned, and needed to pick the new lead soon. Maybe Irish was fit for the job. And he kind of liked her. Emerald was declared seond in charge, she seemed more then fit, but more a friend than a mate. Pushing these thoughts away, now he would focus on keeping this mare calm and serene.

Cyprian muttered rudely under her breath but followed the stallion none the less. Melrose had rolled her eyes at Arrow's words. Cy, to reprimand her, nipped the filly on her should. And when Alistar giggled, she nipped his as well. Fools seemed to get worse and worse these days. Stallions and mares too. What was this would coming too?
"Not like I have anything other to do,Arrow." Her tone was harsh, and followed by a scornful laugh, but Cy really meant no harm. She had her fill of being respectful long ago; now she was older it was her turn to mock younger ones.

Arrow turned and snorted. "Cyprian, I undrstand you may think because your older, and wiser, that your better. Without a stallion who cares for you, you could die. Now please." he turned and led her to the creek. Lowering his head to drink he nodded that she was welcome to live off the land. he moved his head to take some bright green lush grass. And it tasted very good. Shaking his mane he turned casual trying to keep the mood light.
"So Cyprian. How long have you been on your own? Not long I hope."

"I hope you don't expect me to answer that question in a calm manor, Silver Arrow." Alistar quivered as his sensitive ears caught his mothers low words. He swallowed nervously; this would not end good. He had told mother that this was a bad place to go, that they should have just stayed where they were before. Mother had said she hadn't ever went to a heard after she had her fifth foal. She said it had she had to swallow her pride, whatever that meant, to even consider asking a stallion to help them.
Alistar glanced warily at Melrose, and she wasn't quite looking at them. She seemed slightly surprised at Cyprian's attitude, yet strangely approving. Alistar didn't get a chance to observe her attitude any more, as his mother continued. " Listen, boy. I have been 'on my own' for years now. It is only because of this brat, that I dared ask a stallion for help." She nodded roughly in Melrose's direction. Alistar's chest tightened. Mother's tone was not right. It wasn't harsh. It was elegant; clipped and cold too. It had lost all traces of her countryish accent and harshness. The dared seemed forced out of her lips too. He didn't take the time to wonder why.
Mother was going to leave. Alistar hoped at least. There was only so much she could take. This was a bad day to come here he knew. Mother had been angry all of the day, for no apparent reason. She had looked like a twig, about to snap at any moment. And like always, Alistar was scared.

Arrow shook his mane. He was fed up with the mare but moved away. He noticed the young colt's stance and tension and felt bad for the guy. He moved down stream to give the mare some space, blocking her out to calm down.
He nickered for the young colt to join him if he wanted. the mare seemed frusterated for no reason, and he didn't seem to be able to fix that. No matter how much she wanted to leave, she wasn't going to.
Or if she really wanted to, maybe the young colt would want to stay. hecould if he wanted, as could the filly. His head came up but he didn't look at the mare. "Cyprian. I want to help." His words were sincere but stern.[/size ]

"She didn't hear you." Alistar's words were shaking as he came to the stallion. He was shaking, too. Mother might be mad at him for talking to the stallion. He glanced at her, but Mother didn't see him. Her blind eye was facing him. He never told anyone how much that freaked him out. The blue orbs flickered like a normal eye, yet seemed to see all. Maybe that was the reason why she was so grumpy. " Mother didn't want to do this in the first place." He said, than immediately regreted it. What if this stallion took offense?

Arrow smiled as the colt stepped forward. She didn't hear you Arrow's face showed confusion, and he wouldlet the colt answer that. He didn't wholly get it. He moved closer to the colt, his heat flowed from him like the sun shone on earth and his patience and calm surrounded the air.
"I don't blame her. She seems like an independant mare." Smiing he knew she wouldbe able to hear him say that. But he hadn't said anything rude or offensive. "Son, take a drink. It's cool and refreshing."
Suddenly a howl was heard in the distance and Arrow tensed. he had dealt with them numerous times, even bearing scars form them. They jumped from the bushes on the other side of the creek and Arrow swiftly moved infront of Cyprian and her foals. One jumped at the mare and he slammed it with his hoovs as it whimpered.
One grabbed hold of his neck and he shook it trying to get it off but it held tight for a few more seconds before one jumped at the colt. Snorting aggressively Arrow turned and slammed it down with his rear hooves. there were three more to go and one jumped at Melrose..

Alistar smiled tentatively and spoke. "Mothers half-deaf." He said, his voice innocent and truthful. The small brown colt leaned his head down to take a drink. Then the howls reached him. Alistar stood shock still, and quivered away from the strange beasts. In a futile attempt to hide, he squeezed his eyes shut. Melrose would laugh later on, but he didn't care.
*************
Cyprian hissed lowly at the beasts, knowing quite well what they could do. She let Arrow defend them from the first few (telling herself it was only so he wouldn't feel guilty about not being able to fight the buggers). She hadn't seen the one who jumped at Alistar, because of her blind eye, and the wolves noticed this.
One was heading towards Melrose. The rage she had been harboring all day came out then. The stocky mare didn't bother with rearing or any fabulous antics just stepped on whatever she could while Melrose moved behind her. Her hoofs hit a leg, and it broke cleanly with a snap. Cy moved on to the one aiming for her good eye. "No d**n way am I letting you have this." She growled and snapped the beasts ribs. If there was anything Cyprian would fight for besides her children, then it would her eye.

Arrow smiled and nodded as Cyprian took two of them, though killing them was better off than injuring them. If she was going to stay, she had much to learn. Two lay on the ground by him bleeding, and everyone was ok. One lay dieing by Cyprian and he felt it was good enough. To finish it he walked over it's head. "It's god everyone is ok."
Arrow moved to the colt and smiled gently. "Your welcome here when your on your own." He said it quietly and hushed even though he didn't much care if Cyprian was mad.

Cyprians face was washed with disgust and horror as Arrow killed the last one. She didn't disapprove of his other kills, they were necessary in life. There was too much death in this world already. These creatures had lifes;had families. Cy knew this well. She would never forgive herself for having to kill a litter because she had murdered the mother.
"Come 'ere, young one." Her voice was angled towards both of the foals, but only Melrose complied quickly. Alistar was hesitant and began to follow reluctantly. "Do what ya want, boy. Just come back to me later alright." Cy's voice was quiet, and a warm, almost kind smile lay on her mouth. It would disappear seconds later, but Alistar replied. "Thanks, Mother, I will." Respectful, but not unhappy.
*********
Alistar watched as his mother and evil adoptive sister began to leave, calling back to Arrow, saying she'd come back if she ever came close to dying. Alistar look nervously up at Arrow, hoping that he wouldn't turn him away. Mother certainly wouldn't take him back if he the stallion turned him away.

Arrow snorted and flicked his tail as the mare left. Technically she wasn't allowed but he nodded without smiling. "Good bye Cyprian." It wasn't to say the stallion was glad to see her go. If he had let the wolves get to her she might be dead. disregarding her now he looked down at the colt and nuzzled him.
"Welcome to the herd colt. Now what is your name?" He asked gently and kindly. "I have a filly on the land, about your age maybe. Her name is Raven." He winked and stood over him, protectively.

Alistar smiled happily, only a little bit nervous. Arrow was nice and calm, like smooth and clear water. Much unlike his rough, difficult mother. He thought a moment; he mother had given him a long drawn out name that she didn't use ever for him. It seemed for appropriate than his nickname though.
"Cała Gwiazda od Nocny Serce." Alistar grinned wryly at his full title. It was such an odd one. "It means 'Whole Star of Night Heart'. You can call me Alistar though....or Ali if you want." He giggled slightly. Ali looked up at arrow, his innocent hazel orbs meeting kind ones.

The stallion smiled and listened at the name. "Wear your name proudly, Alistar." His tail slashed his whipcord and he snorted. Soon he would call together the herd, and the three new horses, soon four would meet. He looked around, kind of hoping for Irish to come but for now did not call her.
Looking down at the colt, he was glad he was staying. He was shy and needed attention, and care, a nurturing. Not a harsh mother who seemed to care about herself and the filly.
